Portable Kaiju Super Battle League Rules
Do you wanna be the very best? Dare we even say, like no one ever was? Well come and face your real test at the Portable Kaiju Super Battle League. All our battles will be held in Pokémon Champions; where challengers will assemble a squad of ten Pokémon to take on our Gym Leaders in thrilling 4v4 double battles. After obtaining eight or more badges you can try your best against our grueling Elite Four to earn your rightful place in our Champions’ Tournament. Finally, on Sunday of the Convention all qualifying champions will face off with their 6 strongest Pokémon in a winner take all fight to see who truly is the Very Best. Participation is free with an Otakon Badge and open to anyone with a copy of Pokémon Champions (Switch or Mobile) and the fighting spirit of true Pokémon Master.

League Structure:
There will be 10 Gym Leaders for you to challenge to earn button badges.
Each Gym will have a theme (not type dependent) such as “Snakes” “Summer” “Relics” etc.
Earn 8 of the 10 offered gym badges. Gyms will be open all day Friday and Saturday following Gaming Hall Hours.
Those who earn 8 Gym Badges will then earn the privilege to fight our Elite 4. The Elite 4 will be available for Challenge starting Saturday Afternoon and Sunday Morning before the Champions Tournament.
Those that earn all 4 Elite 4 Badges will get to fight each other in the Champions Tournament to determine the Otakon Champion for 2026.

Gym Battles Open:
Friday 10AM to 1AM
Saturday 10AM to 1AM
Sunday 10AM to 11:59AM
Elite 4 Battles Open:
Saturday 2PM to 1AM
Sunday 10AM to 11AM
Championship Tournament:
Sunday 11AM to Close.
*Looking for a specific Gym Leader? We will update our gym leader's schedules at our booth. We will always have multiple gym leaders at the booth accepting challenges.
Team building Rules:
Declare 10 Pokémon to use for the challenge, Pick 6 to bring to the team selection, Bring 4 for the battle.
When you sign up, you will fill out a paper detailing the 10 pokemon you will be using for the challenge. You may switch up your teams in any combination of these 10 pokemon for the Gym Battles & Elite 4 Battles. For the Final Tournament, you will declare 6 of these 10 pokemon that you will use for the whole tournament.
Clauses:
Endless Battle Clause: There are some combos that can cause endless loops such as Leppa Berry + Recycle +Heal Pulse. ALL FORMS OF ENDLESS LOOPS ARE BANNED.
Species Clause: You may not have two of the same Pokémon on your team. Pokémon such as Rotom have several variants although they share the same National Dex number you may use more than one of Pokémon such as this if they are not the same variant. This variant exception will also apply to Regional Forms.
Item Clause: You may not have two or more Pokémon with the same item on your team.
Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
One Hit KO Clause: You may not use any move that may result in a one hit KO such as: Fissure, Horn Drill, Sheer Cold, and Guillotine.
Sleep Clause: You may only willingly put two enemy Pokémon to sleep at any one time. This amount is not effected by secondary effects such as certain Gmax moves.
Legendary Pokèmon Clause: You may not use any Legendary Pokèmon, or Mythics such as: Mega Floette
Fair Fight Clause: You may not use the internet or receive aid from another player during or before any match, however you may use a blank sheet of paper and a writing utensil. It is polite to not have your phone out during matches to curtail impressions of such bad behavior.
